Youth Resources
A self-guided, mobile-friendly online program that leverages the American Lung Association’s evidence-based Not On Tobacco help teens break nicotine dependency.
Not On Tobacco seeks to address this growing problem by giving all teens the resources they need to break nicotine dependency and find healthier outlets.
SmokefreeTeen has a specific program to help teens quit vaping. There is also a SmokefreeTXT program and the quitStart App. All these resources are provided by National Cancer Institute
Vaping Cessation: A Guide for School Nurses and Counselors to Help Youth Who Vape
This guide contains information relevant to the youth quitting process that can aid discussions between a school nurse or counselor and their students. It includes a tool to assess dependence, suggested scripts to use when talking with youth about vaping, and additional resources.

Vaping Prevention and Education: Resources for Talking With Students is a robust collection of science-based, standards-mapped classroom resources. These resources were created by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Tobacco Products and aim to prevent vaping among middle and high school students. These cross-curricular vaping prevention resources include lesson plans, activities, infographics, and videos that help teens learn about the dangers of e-cigarette use. These resources can be used to start an open dialogue with students about vaping nicotine and help encourage a lifetime of healthy behaviors.

The site offers confidential resources to help young people understand the risks of nicotine addiction and provides tools and support to help them quit. The website aims to counteract the often positive, ‘hyped’ messaging that teens are exposed to regarding vaping.

Nicotine Anonymous (“NicA”) is a non-profit 12-step fellowship of people helping each other live nicotine-free lives. Nicotine Anonymous welcomes all those seeking freedom from nicotine addiction, including those using cessation programs and nicotine withdrawal aids. The primary purpose of Nicotine Anonymous is to help all those who would like to cease using tobacco and nicotine products in any form. The Fellowship offers group support and recovery using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to achieve abstinence from nicotine.
